Evidence and project scope

Flame-retardant solar fabric. The supplier confirms that the listed 3% and 5% Marilise colourways use the same flame-retardant treatment and production process. SGS Test Report AJFTS25007759R01_EN records that a submitted 5% openness sunscreen-fabric sample (White and Grey; 30% polyester / 70% PVC; 395 g/m²; single-layer front surface) passed NFPA 701:2023 Test Method 1 as received.

The SGS report records the submitted 5% White/Grey sample. If your project requires colour- or openness-specific documentation, we can arrange and provide additional testing for the selected fabric configuration with the order.

OEKO-TEX documentation. Our fabric supplier holds OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 Certificate SH015 131316, issued by TESTEX AG and valid through September 30, 2026, for a defined decorative-material fabric scope. It is a textile chemical-safety certificate, not an NFPA 701 fire-performance test and not a certificate for the motorized shade assembly.

Important: Motors, remotes, wiring, brackets, chains, bottom rails, valances, hardware, mounting, and finished configurations were not part of the fabric test. This product is not described as fireproof. For hospitality, commercial, or code-regulated projects, please contact us with the selected colour, openness, configuration, project location, and required standard before ordering. Project documentation: The SGS report records the submitted 5% White/Grey fabric sample (30% polyester / 70% PVC, 395 g/m², single-layer front surface). For an order or project requiring a specific color- or openness-specific flammability report, we can arrange and provide corresponding testing for the selected fabric configuration. The OEKO-TEX document is a supplier-held textile chemical-safety certificate for a defined fabric scope; it is not an NFPA 701 test. Motors, remotes, wiring, brackets, chains, bottom rails, hardware, mounting, and finished configurations were not part of the fabric test. Frequently Asked Questions

How is Marilise flame-retardant fabric documented?

The supplier confirms that the listed 3% and 5% Marilise colorways use the same flame-retardant treatment and production process. SGS Test Report AJFTS25007759R01_EN records that a submitted 5% White/Grey sample passed NFPA 701:2023 Test Method 1 as received. If a project requires a report for a specific color or openness, we can arrange and provide corresponding flammability testing for the selected fabric configuration with the order. The fabric report does not make the finished motorized shade fireproof or certify motors, hardware, mounting, or installation.

Are Marilise motorized solar shades blackout?

No. Marilise is a light-filtering solar shade designed to soften harsh sunlight, reduce glare, and preserve a daytime view. It will not create the room-darkening effect of a blackout shade, so choose a blackout product for bedrooms or spaces that need maximum darkness.

What is the difference between 3% and 5% openness?

The openness percentage describes how open the weave is. A 3% fabric has a tighter weave and generally provides stronger glare control and daytime privacy, with less incoming light and a more limited view. A 5% fabric allows more daylight and a clearer outdoor view, but offers less daytime privacy and glare control. Fabric color and lighting conditions also affect performance.

How much privacy do solar shades provide during the day and at night?

During the day, solar shades can provide privacy while preserving some view to the outside, depending on openness, fabric color, and lighting. At night, when interior lights are brighter than outside, people may be able to see in. For nighttime privacy, pair the shade with drapery or choose a blackout shade.

Do Marilise solar shades help reduce glare, UV exposure, and heat?

Yes. The solar fabric is designed to soften direct sunlight, reduce screen glare, and help limit solar heat and UV exposure. Results vary with openness, fabric color, window direction, and sun intensity. Solar shades improve comfort but are not a substitute for insulated glass or a blackout shade.

Are Marilise shades cordless, and how does OEKO-TEX documentation apply?

Marilise motorized shades operate without a continuous-loop lift cord or chain. Our fabric supplier holds OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 Certificate SH015 131316 for a defined decorative-material fabric scope. It is a supplier-held textile chemical-safety certificate, not a certification of the motorized shade assembly. See the documentation section for the certificate scope and validity.

What sizes are available, and how should I measure?

Custom sizes range from 21 to 108 7/8 inches wide and 20 to 130 7/8 inches high, selectable in 1/8-inch increments. For an inside mount, enter the exact inside width; we deduct 3/8 inch for installation clearance. A minimum frame depth of 2 inches is required. For an outside mount, add about 4 inches to the window-frame width for better coverage and enter the frame height or greater.

What is included, and can I install the shade myself?

Each order includes the custom shade, charging cables, installation brackets, screws, and the accessories selected with your order. Both inside and outside mounts are supported. Follow the installation guide and confirm that the supplied hardware is suitable for your mounting surface.

Which motor type should I choose?

Standard Motor requires a compatible remote for setup and operation; select None if you already own one. Bluetooth Motor connects directly to the Deconovo+ app through Bluetooth and also supports remote control. Standard Motor + Hub supports remote, app, and voice control with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. Zigbee Motor supports remote, app, and voice control through a compatible Zigbee setup; selected Echo devices with a built-in Zigbee hub can connect directly, while other setups may require a compatible Zigbee hub. Matter Motor over Thread supports Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant and requires a compatible Matter controller with a Thread Border Router.

Do I need to purchase a remote with every shade?

At least one compatible remote is required for initial setup. If you already have a compatible Deconovo remote, select “None” when ordering additional shades.

Can I install and control multiple shades together?

Yes. Measure and order each window section separately, allowing clearance for brackets, valances, adjacent shades, and the selected roll direction. Group control depends on the motor and smart-home setup. For bay windows or closely spaced shades, contact us with photos and measurements before ordering.

How do I charge the motor, and how long does the battery last?

Recharge the motor by USB or power bank using a standard 5V/1A or 5V/2A adapter, such as an older iPhone charger or regular USB port. A full charge generally takes about 5–8 hours: red means charging; green means full. Under typical use, the motor may run for approximately 4–6 months per charge. Actual battery life varies with operating frequency, shade size, motor type, and environmental conditions. A compatible solar panel can also help maintain the charge.

How loud is the motor during operation?

Marilise operates at approximately 30 dB—similar to a quiet whisper. Actual sound may vary by motor type, shade size, installation, and room conditions.

What motor warranty options are available?

A 3-year limited motor warranty is included. Optional 4-year and 5-year limited motor warranty upgrades are available when configuring the shade. Review the warranty terms for coverage details.

How do I clean the solar shade fabric?

Spot clean with a damp white cloth, blot away excess moisture, and allow the fabric to air dry. Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, and abrasive scrubbing.
