The 100% blackout specification — panel light transmission below 0.5%.
"Blackout" is an unregulated marketing term that can mean as little as 85% light blocking. The Deconovo Total Blackout specification is different: panel light transmission tested below 0.5%, achieved through dual-layer coated polyester construction. This is the spec shift workers, home theater builders, and parents trying to consolidate baby naps actually need.
Where the remaining light comes in (and how to seal it)
A 100% blackout panel still leaves four leak points: the top gap above the rod, the side gaps if the rod doesn't extend past the frame, the center gap where two panels meet, and the floor gap at the bottom. Mounting the rod 6–8 inches above the window frame, extending it 8–10 inches past each side, ordering 2.5× width fullness, and letting the panel puddle 2–3 inches on the floor seals all four. See the day-sleeper setup guide for the full mounting walk-through.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified — safe for daily skin contact
The Total Blackout coating is a polyurethane-based formulation that passes OEKO-TEX Standard 100 limit values for plasticizers, phthalates, and over 1,000 other regulated substances. Independently tested by an accredited third-party lab — not a self-declared claim.
