Where the remaining light comes in (and how to seal it)
A 100% blackout panel still leaves four leak points: the top gap above the rod, the side gaps if the rod doesn't extend past the frame, the center gap where two panels meet, and the floor gap at the bottom. Mounting the rod 6–8 inches above the window frame, extending it 8–10 inches past each side, ordering 2.5× width fullness, and letting the panel puddle 2–3 inches on the floor seals all four.
